The Communications Training Series consists of these courses:
  • Building Together a Harassment-Free Workplace - This workshop provides a unique approach to harassment training by focusing on the Seeds of Harassment. The Seeds are defined as those actions or organizational behavior norms that, in and of themselves, do not constitute harassment, but create an environment where harassing behavior is allowed to germinate.  Participants learn to identify the Seeds of Harassment and are given practical steps they can take to create a harassment-free workplace.
  • Communication Skills for the 21st Century - This workshop assists participants in developing the skills to communicate effectively in today's multicultural environment.  Participants explore the dynamics of multicultural communication, learn about cultural differences in communication, and learn and practice new tools that facilitate cross-cultural communication.
  • Gender Relations - This course provides a general understanding of the communication, personality and other style differences between men and women, and explores the impact of these differences on cross-gender communication and relationships in the workplace.  In addition, participants are given new cross-gender communication tools and opportunities for skills practice using the tools.
  • Managing and Mediating Conflict - This workshop provides participants the sensitivity, knowledge and skills required to understand and resolve conflicts encountered in the workplace. The primary focus is to have participants understand the important role that cultural differences play in conflict and how to manage multicultural conflict using IEC's innovative five-step process.
