The Recruiting Training Series consists of these courses:

  • Developing Successful Recruiting Programs - This workshop is based on Mr.. Shackelford's book. It gives participants the opportunity to evaluate their present recruiting effort, examines the ways in which diversity recruiting is unique, and provides the participants with strategies that have proven successful for general and targeted recruiting. In addition, participants will develop goals, objectives and a plan of action for their recruiting programs.
  • Interviewing and Hiring Employees with Disabilities - This workshop is designed for anyone involved in the interviewing process. It prepares participants for the experience of interviewing individuals with disabilities by developing their knowledge, sensitivity and skills. It provides a general overview of the disabled population and the laws governing the hiring of employees with disabilities, tips for interviewing and interacting with employees with disabilities, and information on preparing the workplace (and workers) for these employees.
  • Interviewing Skills Workshop - Designed for experienced or novice recruiters, this workshop provides participants the opportunity to develop or refine their interviewing skills. Participants are provided a detailed description of the interview process, taught how to organize the time of the interview and taught how to manage cultural differences in the interview process. The course is highly interactive and includes role playing and mock interviewing.
  • Managing Cultural Differences in the Assessment Process - Designed for hiring managers and others involved in the hiring decision-making process, this workshop provides participants with tools they can use to objectively assess candidates. In addition, participants learn about the impact of cultural differences in the selection process and how to manage this issue. The course includes skills practice (using the new tools) through role playing and mock interviewing.
  • Managing Cultural Differences in the Selection Process - Designed for recruiters, human resources personnel, hiring managers and others involved in the interviewing of candidates for employment or promotions. This workshop challenges participants to examine their personal biases while learning about the impact of cultural differences in the selection process and how to manage those differences.
  • Recruiting and Retaining Employees Presentation - This 2-hour presentation provides participants a general understanding of the recruiting process and how to build successful recruiting programs. Participants learn about the components of recruiting programs and how to develop strategies to implement each component. In addition, they learn about the unique challenges of minority recruiting and how to address these challenges.
  • Role of the Executive Team Presentation - This 2-hour presentation is designed to provide leaders with an understanding of the critical role they play in the success of a recruiting program. It provides a general review of the components of successful recruiting programs and why recruiting programs fail. In addition, it outlines the role of the executives in developing and implementing recruiting programs.
